Winter Festival 2001: Ski in Central Park.
New York City Parks will blanket Central Park's East Meadow with over a foot of
snow so New Yorkers experience can cross-country skiing, snow-shoeing, sledding
and other winter activities. The Winter Festival is entirely free and will
feature 500 pairs of snowshoes, 500 sets of cross-country ski equipment, and
free instruction. The event will also have hayrides, entertainment, and hot
chocolate.
